INTRODUCTION

These events have been designed to complement the National Tomboy radio control competitions which have been established for quite some time. The dates will not clash with the national competition and models can be eligible for both. However, there are some minor differences in the rules and the Wessex version is designed to enable a wider range of Tomboys and engines to take part. For example the Wessex rules allow, indeed encourage, the MP Jet 040 Classic diesel engine, with the standard 2cc aluminium tank. The national rules currently only allow Mills or replica Mills engines.

In addition for all those living in the West Country there will not be the necessity to drive as many miles to compete.
